Our team had the pleasure of discovering Castel Clara in early October. Laurent and Anne were won over by the setting, the exceptional service, the hotel amenities, and the welcome. Castel Clara is an iconic address in many ways, and its setting is unique!

Castel Clara, the island’s iconic landmark for over 50 years
Opened in 1971, Castel Clara boasts a magical setting. It owes its unique view of Goulphar Cove to Paul Meunier, a pioneer of tourism on Belle-Île. Captivated by this spectacular site overlooking the vast ocean, he decided to build a hotel there. He named it after his first granddaughter, Clara. Over the years, the establishment, composed of two magnificent white buildings, has attracted a growing number of visitors, captivated by the sea air, the breathtaking view, and the remoteness of the hills.

At Castel Clara, every moment becomes an adventure: waking up facing the ocean, timeless getaways, gourmet moments… enough to create unforgettable memories alone, as a couple or with your family.
To recharge your batteries, soothe yourself, or get some fresh air, head to the thalassotherapy institute, which is an integral part of the Castel Clara experience. Over 1,000 m², everything is there to let yourself be carried away by a wave of well-being! A seawater pool, experience showers with invigorating jets or varying lights, hydromassage or massage bath cabins, seaweed wraps, balneotherapy, sauna and hammam, relaxation room… so many state-of-the-art facilities to enjoy innovative treatments and high-quality cures. At the heart of the thalassotherapy institute, the Clara Spa is more specifically dedicated to well-being and beauty: long live facial treatments, body rituals, and the pleasure of letting yourself go under the expert hands of certified practitioners.
Beyond its breathtaking view, Castel Clara has always focused on the pleasures of the table. This year is no exception, as it marks the arrival of Jean-Alexandre Ouaratta ; an inspired chef with a Michelin-starred career. At the helm of the estate’s two restaurants, this native of Réunion Island develops a cuisine of heart and generosity… enhanced here and there with a few flavors from his native island! Between the cozy dining room and the terrace overlooking Port Goulphar, the gastronomic 180° has a capacity of 30 seats. The bistronomic Café Clara , meanwhile, welcomes up to 70 guests in a chic bistro setting with an ocean view.
Castel Clara, the art of living in Belle-Ile

Just a 40-minute ferry ride from Quiberon, the Castel Clara Thalasso & Spa***** , a marine resort on the wild Belle-Île , is a true concentration of sensory pleasure, splendid natural panoramas and renewed vitality. The ideal summer address to fill up on oxygen for a day or a long stay.

Overlooking the southern coast of Belle-Île, Castel Clara offers 66 rooms and suites , most of which have terraces overlooking the sea; the others are nestled in the gardens for absolute tranquility. Each space celebrates the surrounding nature, omnipresent and preserved.
