Apple Original Films’ Highly Anticipated Feature Film ‘F1’ Starring Brad Pitt, From Director Joseph Kosinski and Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Wraps Production at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Made in partnership with Formula 1® and produced by seven-time F1 World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton, Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Plan B Entertainment, the highly anticipated film stars Pitt, Damson Idris, Oscar nominee Kerry Condon, Oscar nominee Javier Bardem, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.

Filming wrapped at Yas Marina Circuit, home of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. A crew of 284, including Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, spent a total of 29 days filming in the emirate on three separate occasions, with the support of local production partner Epic Films.

ABU DHABI, UAE: As the 2024 Formula 1 season comes to a close, Apple Original Films announces that its highly anticipated feature film “F1” has wrapped production at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in partnership with the Creative Media Authority and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission. Starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski, Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Plan B Entertainment and Dawn Apollo Films, the Dawn Apollo Films banner of seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton, “F1” will be released in theaters worldwide and in IMAX® by Warner Bros. Theatrical releases in North America on June 27, 2025 and worldwide from June 25, 2025. 

Made in collaboration with Formula 1®, “F1” delves into the thrilling, cinematic world of Formula 1, the pinnacle of motorsport. Shot on Grand Prix weekends around the world, the film stars Brad Pitt as a former driver returning to Formula 1, and Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP, a fictional team competing against the titans of the sport. The ensemble cast also includes Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon, Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe nominee Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.

“F1” is directed by Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”), who is producing the film alongside seven-time Formula One world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner; Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films; Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B Entertainment; and Kosinski of Monolith Pictures. The film is being made in collaboration with Formula One and the entire F1 community – including Formula One management, all ten teams, F1 drivers and the FIA. Oscar nominee Ehren Kruger (“Top Gun: Maverick”) wrote the screenplay.

With 29 days of production in Abu Dhabi, at the famous Yas Marina Circuit and Zayed International Airport, the cast, including Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Codon and Javier Bardem, as well as an international production crew, were supported by a 284-strong local crew and the Epic Films team, 15 local youth interns and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission under its rebate programme. ‘F1’ is one of 170 major productions supported by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission since the rebate was introduced in 2013.
