Steps from the Piazzetta at the beating heart of Capri, the island’s first luxury boutique hotel, Il Capri, announces a significant expansion of its offering for the 2026 season.

Housed in a 19th-century Neo-Gothic Venetian palazzo at Via Roma 71, the intimate 20-room hotel created by Graziella Buontempo and Arnaud Lacombe now introduces a flagship wellness sanctuary, a new spa partnership with Irene Forte, and a rooftop Osteria delle Sirene that brings the soul of Naples, and the mythical mermaids of Capri, to the table.

THE PROPERTY

Il Capri Hotel was designed as a love letter to the island and to the Mediterranean art of living well, without all the fuss. The project brings together two distinct sensibilities, Graziella Buontempo, a native of Naples and founder of the celebrated Parisian pizzeria Da Graziella, and Arnaud Lacombe, whose hospitality group Savoir Vivre (Déviant, Vivant, Il Camino and other ventures) has long defined a certain Parisian approach to pleasure. Together, they have restored one of Capri’s most storied buildings while preserving everything that made it worth saving.

A private villa converted into a hotel in 1901, the color palette lends the bohemian touch: pastel pinks drawn from Capri’s bougainvillea-draped façades and rich, volcanic reds lifted from the flanks of Vesuvius visible from the property’s terraces. Each of the 20 rooms and suites is furnished with antiques, craftsman- made pieces, and natural materials, such as sisal flooring, bamboo, wicker, linen, and hemp, inviting guests to settle in as if they were at their own vacation home.

Artwork throughout the hotel is drawn from Graziella’s personal collection, including family photographs and tributes to her aunt and namesake, Graziella Buontempo, a figure of cultural significance on the island. “She was one of Italy’s first art patrons and co-founded the Premio Malaparte literary prize with Alberto Moravia,” explains Buontempo. She also owned a house with a terrace that abutted Il Capri. “I grew up seeing the hotel from her vantage point and just knew one day we’d write a new chapter for it.”

WELLNESS – A NEW SANCTUARY ABOVE THE SEA

This season, Il Capri gives guests new reasons to settle in for a while with its most ambitious addition: the transformation of the hotel’s former restaurant and terrace into a 300m2 wellness club. The Il Capri Athletic Club space spans indoor and outdoor areas, each opening directly onto sweeping views of the Gulf of Naples.

With the space comes a structured programme designed to be both accessible and restorative. Guests can join two to three group classes offered each day, included in room rates, including mobility and core sessions at sunset, slow strength and stretch, and relaxation practices meant for all levels of ability. Throughout the season, guests will also be able to book in for wellness retreats focusing on yoga, pilates, breathwork and other disciplines, led by various VIP coaches and private coaching sessions, making it a destination in its own right for guests seeking immersive programming alongside their stay.

SPA – A NEW COLLABORATION WITH IRENE FORTE

Complementing the wellness programme, Il Capri Hotel kicks off the new season with a collaboration with Irene Forte, the London-based wellness entrepreneur and founder of the Irene Forte Skincare line, to offer a panel of treatments that spotlight the brand’s botanical and science-backed formulations. A guestroom within the hotel has been transformed into a dedicated treatment room whose design feels like a natural extension of the island itself. Sisal-covered walls, arched architectural details, hand-woven textiles, geometric-patterned rugs, and an abundance of tropical foliage create an enveloping cocoon. Guests will have access to Irene Forte’s signature skincare rituals and body treatments ranging from an age- defying volcanic facial to a Mediterranean smoothing and nourishing body massage with a double, full-body scrub.
Treatments are available to both hotel guests and day visitors by appointment.

OSTERIA DELLE SIRENE – THE NEW ROOFTOP HANGOUT

Rising above the Piazzetta on the hotel’s rooftop and shrouded in mostly native Mediterranean flora, Osteria delle Sirene opens this season as the hotel’s most spirited dining address.

The feel-good dining concept was developed in collaboration with Giotto Calendoli (@giottocalendoli), the Neapolitan artist and cultural figure whose aesthetic sensibility infuses every corner of the room. Blue-and-white checkered tablecloths, honest service, and traditional dishes, from nourishing pizzas and pastas to fresh fish. The menu follows the Campanian seasons : what arrives from the fishing boats and the terraced gardens above Capri finds its way to the table.

With unobstructed views of the sea on all sides and playful dishware designed by Calendoli himself, Osteria delle Sirene takes its name and design cues from the mythological figures thought to dwell in the surrounding waters.

ROOFTOP POOL

Reserved exclusively for hotel guests, Il Capri’s rooftop pool is meant for lingering. A row of scarlet parasols marks the terrace like a signal from above that la dolce vita is in progress. Everyone is encouraged to plunge in, order something cold, and let the Tyrrhenian Sea fill the horizon. Food and cocktails from The Lobby Bar are available throughout the day.
