The Planet OMEGA exhibition opens in New York.
An exceptional exhibition at the Chelsea Factory in New York traces the history of OMEGA. Until November 19, Planet OMEGA presents the unique DNA of the Swiss watch brand, as well as many of its most innovative and remarkable timepieces.
The space has been divided into six distinct themes, successively devoted to the Olympic Games and sport, the conquest of space, the ocean, James Bond, friends of the brand and precision. Highlights of the tour include the OMEGA wristwatch worn by Elvis Presley as well as the OMEGA Slimline watch worn by John F. Kennedy during his inauguration as US president in 1961.

The Planet OMEGA exhibition was inaugurated in New York during an intimate evening in the presence of a special guest: Nicole Kidman. Organized at the Chelsea Factory, in the heart of Manhattan, this event allowed us to beautifully lift the veil on this retrospective of OMEGA watchmaking bringing together emblematic watches from our past and our present.
Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, had the honor of welcoming the guests to this cocktail and officially declaring open the exhibition which will run until November 19.
He added: “OMEGA’s DNA is both unique and special. Over the years, we have offered magic and innovation to all our creations. It’s a real pleasure to be here and to see many of our most famous models. I also have the pleasure of being accompanied by Nicole, who has always embodied our values of excellence and elegance. »
An OMEGA ambassador since 2005, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman is now one of the brand’s icons. His inspiring style has been seen in numerous advertising campaigns. Recently, she participated in the “Her Time” events which celebrate the history of OMEGA women’s watchmaking.
She also spoke at the inauguration evening in New York: “OMEGA has marked many moments in my life, as you will see in this wonderful exhibition. OMEGA has always inspired me and I am delighted that its story can now be presented in such a special way. Only by looking closely at these watches can you begin to see the beauty and craftsmanship they embody. »
Nicole is often spotted at red carpet events, wearing vintage OMEGA watches chosen by herself. In this exhibition, she was able to admire some of the current models, as well as an original Ladymatic from 1955, which revolutionized women’s watchmaking when it was launched.
Many friends and ambassadors of OMEGA were also invited to this inauguration evening. They include actor Paul Wesley and Swiss singer-songwriter Bastian Baker.
Planet OMEGA welcomes Olympic and Paralympic athletes
Four extraordinary American athletes were welcomed to the Planet OMEGA exhibition on Friday, helping to highlight the Swiss brand’s heritage in sports timing. Olympic champions Noah Lyles, Nathan Chen and Allyson Felix as well as Paralympic athlete Oksana Masters were the day’s distinguished guests. Each of these OMEGA ambassadors took part in an in-depth debate on their career and their relationship with time.
The Planet OMEGA exhibition is made up of watches and anecdotes that have spanned the decades. Highlights to see up close include one of the original OMEGA chronometer models used to time the 1932 Olympic Games as well as the new Seamaster Diver 300M Special Edition Paris 2024.
Daniel Craig visits the Planet OMEGA exhibition in New York
The Planet OMEGA exhibition had another memorable evening this Friday, with the appearance of our guest Daniel Craig in New York. Following Thursday’s opening night with Nicole Kidman, Daniel is the latest OMEGA ambassador to visit the exhibition, currently held at the Chelsea Factory.
Daniel Craig has been an OMEGA ambassador since taking on the role of James Bond in Casino Royale in 2006. During his visit to the Planet OMEGA exhibition, he was able to see many of the most iconic Seamaster models that have appeared in more than 25 years of films. This includes the Seamaster Diver 300M he recently wore in No Time To Die – a film prop on loan from the OMEGA museum in Switzerland.
Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, was also present at the cocktail and showed Daniel around the exhibition. He said: “We can’t talk about OMEGA without mentioning James Bond. The Spy has been wearing our watches since 1995, so I’m delighted that Daniel was able to be here today. Over the course of five 007 films, he really helped showcase OMEGA’s precision, style and reliability, while also participating in our creative process. »
Planet OMEGA brings the Swiss brand’s renowned watchmaking history to life, with a selection of iconic timepieces from yesterday and today. Open until November 19, it allows you to discover the richness of OMEGA’s DNA, with six unique themes dedicated to sport and the Olympic Games, space, the ocean, James Bond, and its ambassadors. and precision.
Speaking at the event in New York, Daniel said: “I have long admired OMEGA’s timeless designs and love how this exhibition shows the authentic connection between vintage watches and models. the most innovative. It’s a perfect way to demonstrate the brand’s unique DNA.”
The Planet OMEGA exhibition is filled with watches and stories dating back decades. Highlights to see up close include other James Bond models, such as the Seamaster Diver 300M from The World Is Not Enough in 1999, as well as the 60th Anniversary Animated Edition launched last year.
The exhibition is open to the public from November 10 to November 19, Monday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Chelsea Factory, 547 W 26th Street. Visitors are invited to reserve their place in advance.
