Films are there to entertain us but also to raise awareness, make us think, feel, love, forgive and many other things. Everyone has their own relationship with cinema and different expectations, but I would still say that the primary objective remains open-mindedness. Isn’t that the beauty of cinema ?

The film AFRICA BLANCA, by Azlarabe ALAOUI LAMHAZRI, was presented in Cannes today at the Cannes Film Market.

Azlarabe ALAOUI LAMHAZRI (Azlarabe Alaoui Lamharzi) is a director, screenwriter, editor, university lecturer, film critic, journalist and writer. Azlarabe ALAOUI LAMHAZRI has won numerous international awards.

Faced with the stigma and dangers of albinism in Africa, a young Senegalese albino and his mother embark on a risky journey to Europe, marked by a crucial pilgrimage to Fez, confronting witchcraft and prejudice in their quest for acceptance.

NAKY SY SAVANE

NAKY SY SAVANE A stage and screen actress, Naky Sy Savané has worked with some of Africa’s greatest directors. She began her career at a very young age withHenri Duparc’s Bal Poussière. She went on to star in a number of feature films and television movies, and won two awards for Best Actress in 1994, one at the Vues d’Afrique festival in Montreal, the other at the Kouriba festival in Morocco for her performance in Au nom du Christ by Roger Gnoan M’Bala. In Sembène Ousmane’s Moolaadé, she plays the griot.

Alongside her acting career, Naky is an active campaigner for access to education and the emancipation of women. She regularly takes action in Côte d’Ivoire to help the most disadvantaged. Together with kélétigui COULIBALY, she founded Afriki DjiguiTheatri2, an organisation that promotes African culture through theatre, dance, storytelling, music and the visual arts. She played the lead role in Fanta Régina Nacro’s first feature film, La Nuit de la vérité, in which she portrays a mother inconsolable after the death of her child.

ABDOULAZIZ SALL

ABDOULAZIZ SALL a young Senegalese albino, freelance top model and film actor.

Azlarabe ALAOUI LAMHAZRI (Azlarabe Alaoui Lamharzi) is a director, screenwriter, editor, university lecturer, film critic, journalist and writer. He is known for WOMEN IN THE WIND (2021), KILIKIS (2018), ANDROMAN (2012), RENDEZ-VOUS A VOLUBILIS (2006), BIDOUZA (2004). He founded his production company, Saiss Medit production, in 1999. Azlarabe Alaoui Lamharzi has directed more than 26 documentaries (on major artistic and political figures who visited Morocco between 1830 and 1998) as well as several corporate films (REDAL, Trésorerie Générale du Royaume, VEOLEA….).

He has taken part in the production of several national and international films and directed He has worked on a project to set up film clubs in several of the Kingdom’s secondary schools with the participation of the “Fédération Nationale des Ciné-Clubs” and also on a project to study the creation of a thematic television channel on behalf of the Alternative Government in 1999. He prepared and helped direct the television series “Lycées” in collaboration with RTM, (12 episodes, 1997-1999).
